Welcome to Matcha Chocolat where making fresh, artisan chocolates from the most imaginative and inspired ingredients is our passion. Our award winning chocolates are made from the highest quality chocolate blended with fine and rare teas, herbs, fruits, flowers and spices from around the world. Each ingredient, from fresh garden mint to floral jasmine tea, is specially selected to compliment the flavour profile of the distinct chocolate couvetures that we use.
Matcha Chocolat (founded 2010) is led by former biologist, Katie Christoffers. Following six years of biology research Katie turned her attention to the art of chocolate making guided by the inspiration to explore the world’s culinary traditions through the medium of beautifully crafted chocolates.
Beginning with the pairing of fine and rare teas with chocolate, Katie launched a range of unique, handmade chocolates influenced by the tea traditions of Japan, China, and India. Since then Matcha Chocolat has developed a wide range of artisan chocolates blended with a variety of globally inspired spices, herbs, fruits and flowers.
At Matcha Chocolat we’re continuously developing our range of chocolates because we’re passionate about exploring the tastes and aromas that the world’s culinary cultures have to offer. We love working with new ingredients, learning about new food traditions and Katie experiments tirelessly to find the right recipes to translate this inspiration into a gourmet chocolate experience. We look forward to sharing where our travels in the world of fine chocolate may take us.
Our Approach
Matcha Chocolat is devoted to creating totally fresh handmade chocolates from the finest, ethically sourced ingredients. We always use the highest quality, fresh ingredients that contain no artificial flavours or added preservatives; and all chocolates are made entirely by hand from start to finish, using artisanal methods. The result is a truly fresh chocolate, with no added vegetable oil, sugar, or neutral alcohol, which give mass-produced chocolates their long shelf life. Our use of fine quality, fresh ingredients and traditional chocolate making techniques gives our handmade chocolates the best possible texture, taste & mouth-feel.
What We Offer
Matcha Chocolat’s Online Shop provides a customer oriented chocolate service with a full range of our freshly made chocolates. Our beautifully designed packing takes an “East meets West” theme, suggesting the meeting of Europe’s chocolate tradition with culinary influences from further afield.
Throughout the year we offer both mixed and single flavour selections, which we compliment with seasonal chocolates available for holidays. We also offer chocolates for special occasions, such as chocolate wedding favours and we are always happy to discuss your ideas for personalised or wholesale orders.
